Teeth can be straightened either be repositioning them or by accepting their position but changing their shape to make it look like they’ve been moved.

Repositioning means orthodontics. This can be done with invisible aligners or with conventional braces (train tracks). Changing their shape means veneers.

If your teeth have always been misaligned this indicates a mismatch between the width of your teeth and the width of your jaw.

If your teeth used to be straight but have become misaligned this could be a sign of underlying gum disease. This must be assessed and treated before any orthodontic is carried out.
