“Lumineers” Veneers by Cerinate of California

“Lumineers” veneers are ceramic custom-made veneers made of a unique synthetic porcelain that is very strong , so strong that they only need to be 0.3mm thick. This allows them to be bonded onto teeth, using the purpose-made “Lumineers” bonding kit, which have not been prepared (in the way that you would have to for a conventional veneer). So the “Lumineers” veneer actually strengthens the tooth as opposed to weakening it and it protects it from sensitivity instead of making it more sensitive.

“Lumineers” veneers can be used to brighten discoloured teeth, to reshape broken or misshapen teeth and to close narrow gaps between teeth. No sensitive tooth substance is removed so there is no need for injections and no sensitivity afterwards.

The process normally takes just three appointments.

At the first appointment We’ll find out what you don’t like about your smile and how you would like it to be, we’ll run through the various alternative options with you and if “Lumineers” veneers are your choice we’ll take some impressions to get some models of your teeth as they are now and a wax-up which will show us what they will look like.

At the second appointment we’ll have a look  at the wax-up to ensure that’s what you want them to look like, I can modify it to suit. Then once you’re happy we’ll take some impressions for the “Lumineers”.

At the final appointment we’ll try-in your “Lumineers” using various try-in pastes and shade modifiers until you’re happy with the appearance. Then we’ll bond the veneers using the appropriate agents from the “Lumineers” veneers kit. This kit contains numerous etching, priming and bonding agents which allow the “Lumineers” venneers to be fixed either on to natural teeth or on to filling materials or on to ceramics (crowns, veneers or bridges). To date I’ve successfully bonded “Lumineers” veneers onto all of these different types of materials, often at the same time in the same mouth. Once bonded I’ll finish and contour the “Lumineers” veneers to create a natural and convincing smile that will last for years (over 20 years).

You should take care of your “Lumineers” veneers exactly the same as your natural teeth; brush them and floss them twice a day, avoid eating sugary snacks and avoid eating anything very hard, use a sportsguard for contact sports. You don’t need to worry about your veneers discolouring, they won’t!
